Welcome, Weary Travelers

I finally updated the blog a little bit. Haven’t written much in a few years. It’s been one of those really long transitional periods where you almost forget that you’re in transition, and begin to live as if the transition is permanent. But nothing’s permanent, as we keep learning. And intention is everything. I finally remembered I was a writer again, and have reset my compass of intent. Thrashing, floating and drifting in the ocean has been fun and real. But writers write.

Someone once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this, too, was a gift.

— Mary Oliver

I used to think this quote was just for me. But it seems like we’ve all been given boxes of darkness since I last wrote much here. Perhaps it’s fitting that I’m the one that dives deep into darkness and returns to the surface with pearls. (A fellow retreatant said this to me once. “I’m really grateful that you’re here,” she added.) I don’t particularly enjoy darkness. In fact, I think I’ve pulled enough treasure for a lifetime, and will now soak up the sunlight as I proceed.

I hope you find something useful, educational, thought-provoking, uplifting or enlightening in this website.
